1. 오늘 신명기 말씀은 공의와 질서를 위해서 위증자에 대해 자신이 피해를 입은대로 하라는 엄한 율법기준을 제시합니다.
하지만 주님은 신약에서 “눈은 눈으로, 이는 이로 갚으라 하였다는 것을 너희가 들었으나 나는 너희에게 이르노니 악한 자를 대적하지 말라. 누구든지 네 오른편 뺨을 치거든 왼편도 돌려 대라”고 하시며 보복을 금하고 원수조차 사랑하라고 말씀하십니다.
율법은 ‘보복’을 말하지만, 복음은 ‘용서’를 가르칩니다. 이 차이를 다시 한번 마음깊이 깨닫습니다.
오늘 말씀을 통해서 일상의 모든 순간 모든 상황을 판단을 할 때 두 세증인 이상을 참고하며 침착하고 신중하게 하며 또한 나의 모든 사소한 언행과 증언 하나도 주님 앞에서 이루어지는 것임을 기억하며 ‘코람데오’의 삶을 다짐해봅니다.
2. 또한 신약이후의 삶을 살아가는 그리스도인으로서 거짓과 탐욕과 보복이 일상이 되어 버린 세상속에서 원수까지도 사랑하라고 하시는 성령의 깊은 음성에 또한 귀를 기울입니다.
그렇습니다. 주님! 용서만이 답입니다. 혹 내게 주어지는 어떤 억울한 상황에서도 왼편까지 돌려대면서도 자유와 기쁨을 누리는 복음의 승리를 선포합니다!
상처를 상처로 되갚지 않고, 손해를 그대로 되돌려주려 하지 않으며 원수 갚는것도 주님께 온전히 맡깁니다. 세상의 방식이 아닌, 하나님의 말씀으로 세상의 상식을 뛰어 넘고 성령으로 충만하여 말씀이 나의 영혼과 육체를 다스리기를 간절히 기도합니다!!
Today’s passage from Deuteronomy presents a strict standard of the Law, demanding that a false witness be treated in the same way as the harm they intended to inflict, in order to uphold justice and order.
However, in the New Testament, the Lord says, “You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also.” In this, He forbids retaliation and calls us even to love our enemies.
While the Law speaks of revenge, the Gospel teaches forgiveness. I am reminded once again of this profound difference.
Through today’s message, I reflect on how I should make every judgment in daily life calmly and prudently, based on the testimony of two or three witnesses. I also reaffirm that every word and action—even the smallest—takes place before the Lord. With this in mind, I commit once more to living a life Coram Deo—before the face of God.
As a Christian living in the era of after the New Testament, I also turn my ear to the deep voice of the Holy Spirit, calling me to love even my enemies in a world where falsehood, greed, and revenge have become part of everyday life.
Yes, Lord! Forgiveness is the only answer. Even in unjust situations that may come my way, I choose to turn the other cheek and proclaim the victory of the Gospel that brings freedom and joy!
I will not repay wounds with wounds, nor will I return loss for loss. I entrust vengeance entirely to You, Lord. I earnestly pray that I may not follow the ways of the world, but be filled with the Holy Spirit, and that Your Word would govern both my soul and body, surpassing worldly wisdom and guiding me according to Your truth! |
