In the world, the dominant idea is that even if you live an evil and unrighteous life, you just have to succeed. It was also like that in the era when Asaph lived, so he almost stumbled when he saw the prosperity of the wicked. It is said that the wicked always have peace and wealth increases, but Asaph himself suffers calamities and is punished. However, he concludes, it is futile because only being rich does not give happiness. So he confesses that God does good to the pure in heart. ‘Pure’ means ‘to be separated’ and means to be separated from sin and fear God. Jesus' death on the cross and resurrection gave me the righteousness of God and set me free from sin and death. So, now, God has made me live by searching for and thinking about the things above. I will always walk with the Lord, keeping my heart pure by drawing closer to the Word so that I do not envy those who live richly without the Lord or get entangled in the things of the earth.
